Lincoln Club Member Damon Dunn Appointed Distinguished Visiting Fellow – Hoover Institution

Damon Dunn, business entrepreneur and community leader, has been appointed distinguished visiting fellow in the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.
Dunn who was recently named to Time magazine’s top 40 under 40 list of rising political stars, will hold an appointment through the 2012 academic year. Fellows at the Hoover Institution engage in assembling and disseminating ideas directed at positive policy formation in economic, political, and social changes in societies, at home and abroad.
“I am proud and honored to be named a visiting fellow in the Hoover Institution at Stanford,” said Dunn. “I look forward to working with preeminent leaders in public policy as we help the Golden State regain some of its luster.”
Governor Schwarzenegger Re-Appoints Lincoln Club Member Pablo Wong to the Economic Strategy Panel
December 31, 2010 – Pablo Wong, 54, of San Francisco, has been reappointed to the Economic Strategy Panel, where he has served as a member since 2005.
Since 2006, he has been senior vice president for marketing development for Fidelity National Financial. Prior to that, Wong was vice president emerging markets for First American Title Company. Previously, he was manager of community affairs for the California State Automobile Association from 1997 to 2003. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no salary. Wong is a Republican.
Governor Schwarzenegger Appoints Glenn C. Rice, Ph.D. as Trustee to the California Board of Health Professions Education
November 9, 2010– Governor Schwarzenegger announced today the appointment of Glenn C. Rice, Ph.D., 54, to the California State Health Professions Education Board of Trustees.
Dr. Rice is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur that has been involved with the creation and building of eight venture capital backed biotech companies as founder/CEO/President and member of the early executive management team. The companies have led to multiple FDA approved drugs for cancer and autoimmune diseases, new medical service platforms, significant investor returns through IPO’s or acquisitions, as well as economic growth and employment. Currently he is President of MetronomX, a company focused on clinical development of breakthrough drugs for children’s cancer. Recently he served as COO and President of Pharmacyclics of Sunnyvale, CA, a public listed company developing drugs for lymphoma and autoimmunity, and he continues to serve on its board of directors. He has also led the biosciences division at SRI International in Menlo Park, CA and has significant international business experience with extensive track records in China, India, Taiwan and Singapore. He started his drug research career at Genentech after a Cancer Biology Fellowship at Stanford University.
Dr. Rice is an inventor on over 22 patents or patent applications and has authored over 75 manuscripts and book chapters. He is a recognized expert on pharmaceutical drug development and has been an organizer, chairman and/or plenary speaker of dozens of international conferences in the US, Europe, China, and Taiwan related to this topic and his pioneering work has been featured in numerous newspapers and periodicals. He is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Association for Cancer Research.
Dr. Rice is active in number of California public service organizations and is passionate about improving science and engineering education in public schools and in providing medical education support to underserved California constituents and communities.
